a) Anyone can give their own two cents. It is ultimately up to you and your goals for accomplishing whatever it is you want to accomplish in life. You can't buy success.
b) It's not about the major, it's about you. Don't think that a particular major is a guaranteed road to success. Pretty much any subject is open to subject matter experts.
c) Look for ideas and always appreciate everything thrown at you. It's too easy to make friends. Finding the right friends is the challenge. Be an open door to everyone and everything.
d) Accentuate your time. If you need to study, go to the library and really study. Don't set yourself up for distraction. Time management is the ultimate goal for everyone.
e) Clearly state your intentions. Never try to fit in. Sometimes your world may seem like you have to, but don't. If you feel the need to be original that will help you out a lot.
Ahh life lessons, yes you have to learn, but structure is also necessary.
